The view shows the corner of Third Street and Clay Avenue. The broad side of the building is along
Muskegon's Occidental Hotel started in the late 19th century as a wood-frame building on Western Avenue. It was a fixture in downtown until 1975 when the 330-room 8-story hotel was imploded to make way for a parking lot for the new Muskegon Mall.
Today it is known as the Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts, but it was built as the Michigan Theater which I believe was actually a movie theater at the time.
