There is a little park on this corner across from these substantial brick business buildings.  As usually happened, such towns are thrown up quickly using wood as the main building material.  Then all of it burns down,

This building was typical of stores back in the day when the family lived above the store. In this case the man was, as he put it on his sign, 'J. Snetzer Merchant Tailor.'  I think such a store speaks to the prosperity
